The wood

Every piece starts as salvage

Rather than buying perfect boards, each piece starts from salvaged wood that might otherwise go to waste. Knots, streaks and figure are kept, not hidden. The grain decides the shape.

  • Maple

Pale and creamy. Spalted and ambrosia maple carry dark streaks and map-like lines that make each bowl one of a kind.

  • Walnut

Deep chocolate brown with a soft, wavy grain.

  • Cherry

Warm reddish brown that deepens with age.

  • Ash

Light in colour with a bold, open grain.

  • And more

Oak, black locust and the odd burl, where the grain runs in every direction. Whatever salvaged wood turns up with a grain worth showing.
